How ‘Rocket League’ Became 2015′s Surprise Videogame Hit

The team behind “Rocket League” sensed it might have a winner on its hands after Universal Pictures asked about working one of its entertainment properties into the indie game. They settled on a classic: the DeLorean from the movie “Back to the Future.” It’s just one of several vehicles players can purchase for a few bucks in “Rocket League,” a quirky mash-up of soccer and auto racing, and one of 2015’s surprise videogame hits.
